The Origional Armor

Here are the pics of the original armor that I am recreating.  This is the Rathalos Soul armor.  I like the coloring and the really angry look it has.  I finally got the remote joy thing to work with My PSP, so these are actual screenshots that I took.
Here is just the helmet so you can compare my work to the origional.
and now on to the full set.  I know what you are thinking.... my goodness that is really intricate and detailed.  I know! that is what I want.  I want a good challenge.  I first thought "what have I gotten myself into?" but now I have seen what has been acomplished so far and I am quite pleased.
and yes that is a pig in the background dressed up like a watermelon.  If I pet him before the quests my luck is increased and I can get rare items.  It is sort of a timing game.   well, I guess I had better go.  See ya next time!

Getting a HANDle on the situation...

I have finally finished my Gauntlets.  I haven't really been keeping my blog up to date.  I have been very busy with recent family events, and today is my Birthday!  I have had such a good time today.  I have done absolutely nothing productive.  I have just been relaxing in the house.  I am enjoying a much needed break.  Well here they are the pics!  Oh! I need to give a shout out to my Lovely wife who took the picture to the left and I also need to give a shout out to a wonderful Friend Bryan Bradford.  He let me borrow his Digital Camera so I could continue the upload of pics and updates for my blog.  Our digital camera broke a long time ago :(   Thanks to you!

A tribute to one of the Greatest women on the planet

I once remember the first time I had met Maria Douglas.  I affectionatly call her Grandma.  She was so full of love and she was always the first to ask how you were.  Grandma was also the one to tell you what nobody else was brave enough to say.  I loved her so much.  I will miss her dearly.   She is now laid to rest.  She died on the 9th of December.  She fought a long and hard battle with cancer.  The cancer finally won, but She gave it her all and She was a very strong woman.  Her Funeral was Yesterday, the 16th of December.  On the bright side of things, she is in a much better place and she is not suffering anymore.  I am so glad to know that she is doing much better and she gets to fellowship with our creator Jesus Christ.  I love you grandma!

To the fires of....... the glue gun!

Okay I haven't actually done anything productive in the past couple of days with my armor because I burned myself with the glue gun I am using :(

It all happened rather quickly, and here is what happened:

I was gluing the backplate of the gauntlet to the glove and the glue gun released a whole lot more glue than I was ready for.  it all fell on the glove that was on my hand.  I then (ever so calmly) decided that the glue was hot!  the glove came off (not ever so calmly) and by then it was too late.  the deed had been done and the blister had formed ( rather quickly I might add).  It (the blister) then was promptly removed with the glove.  I now have a nice little (sort of) hole in the back of my hand.

Needless to say, I can't really do anything until it heals.  So.... it looks like I am going to be very bored for a little while.  that is OK that will give me a little time to play the game again and get more references.  I am hoping to have pictures of the gauntlets soon by the way....

Til' next time!

moving right along!!

Ok So today I have almost completed the hands of the Gauntlets. I regret I don't have any pics to show right now (the batteries are slim pickin's in my house and our digital camera eats them alive!). I will try to post pics soon. Here are the pics of the rathalos armor. this is the origional armor. the azure armor is just a midnight blue and a little more complicated, but not much. the helmet looks a little more angry. You really can't see the eyes in this pic, but the azure rathalos armor has red eyes just under the striped plate thing on his head. anyway, back to the work. see ya later on!!

Back on track...

Okay, looks like I am going to have to post twice in one day. Oh well... I have made considerable progress on the helmet today. The previous post was just to get the first pics up of when I started the helmet. even those pics are a little late. I wish I could have thought of this blog thing a little sooner. oh well, hind-sight is 20/20 I guess. anyway, I have the final spikes on the back of the helmet. It is now mostly complete. I just need to paint it and smooth some stuff out with bondo or another filler agent. I have glued one side of the face part together so I could conserve Velcro to be used on other parts of the armor. I am going to move on to the gauntlets next. That flare part of the helmet on the back was particularly fun to do. I think it turned out quite nicely! I don't have to work today or tomorrow, so I will try to get back to the updates for this blog tomorrow...

the first pics!

Here are the First pics of my Helmet. Things are going quite well. I am still trying to figure out a way to get a screen shot from my PSP so you can see what I am trying to recreate. I should be able to post some pics of the real armor sometime later. I finally got some Velcro today, so I can make the face plate actually stick. I have it removable right now. Sorry this post is so late... I have had a lot of stuff to work on.
